What is CBD OIL?
Full spectrum CBD oil is a thick oil or paste like substance extracted from hemp plants, which contains many of the plants naturally occurring compounds, including a spectrum of phytocannabinoids (CBD, CBG, CBN, etc.), terpenes, flavonoids, various nutrients and other phytochemicals. CBD oil extracts should not be confused with cold pressed hemp seed oil used in skin creams.

Do I get high from consuming CBD OIL from the Hemp plant?
No. The cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids and other phytochemicals extracted from hemp plants do not contain the psychoactive compounds in sufficient quantities required to produce a high. The active compounds in hemp oil extracts provide many of the health and wellness benefits of the cannabis plant without the psychotropic effect (the high), allowing you to consume these products while maintaining a clear mind.

Is hemp different than marijuana?
Hemp (or industrial hemp) are commonly used terms for Cannabis Sativa L plant strains that contain very low levels of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the active ingredient found in marijuana plants. The hemp plant is the "Mother" of the Cannabis plants.

Industrial hemp contains less than 0.3% tetrahydrocannabinol and is used for many purposes like clothing, paper, and the production of foods, including cannabinoid rich oil extracts. While hemp and marijuana come from the same plant species (Cannabis) the strains used for each purpose are very different. Growers of Cannabis Sativa, used as medicinal or recreational marijuana, typically have tetrahydrocannabinol levels of well over 2%. We do not sell products containing cannabis oils with high levels of tetrahydrocannabinol.

Are products made with CBD oil from the Hemp plant legal?
Our phytocannabinoid rich extracted hemp oil based products are legal to make, sell and consume in the United States and in over 40 countries around the world. The FDA considers consumable hemp products, including cannabinoid rich hemp oil extracts, to be food products. Our cannabinoid rich hemp oil extracts are produced from certified industrial hemp plants that contain virtually no tetrahydrocannabinol (<0.03%) and are therefore exempt from the DEA’s Schedule of classified drugs.

*UPDATE 1/1/2019: President Trump has signed the 2018 Farm Bill. This bill takes control of hemp away from the Drug Enforcement Agency and puts hemp under the control of the Dept. of Agriculture as a "food crop". Hemp is now allowed to grow in all 50 states, if the individual states allow it.

What is supercritical fluid (CO2) extraction? Why is it important?
Supercritical fluid extraction is a gentle and effective method of separating and collecting phytochemicals and other valuable plant constituents from botanical materials. Carbon dioxide is an abundant, naturally occurring gas, which leaves no residue (as opposed to ethanol extraction which leaves alcohol residue).

Supercritical fluid extraction uses carbon dioxide (CO2) under high pressure. Under these conditions, carbon dioxide becomes a liquid that acts as a powerful but gentle solvent that extracts botanical compounds like phytocannabinoids, terpenes, flavanoids and other phytochemicals from the hemp plants.

After supercritical CO2 extraction, the carbon dioxide is recaptured leaving behind no residual solvent. Supercritical CO2 extraction is the most gentle and effective way to extract phytocannabinoid rich compounds from the industrial hemp plant (Cannabis Sativa L).

What is an appropriate serving size for me?
Your ideal serving size depends on many factors including your size, weight, and other physiological considerations as well as the desired nutritional or other goals you are trying to achieve.

The recommended serving is about 10 drops, taken sublingually (under the tongue), one to three times a day. The serving size can be gradually increased or decreased as desired to achieve your goals.

Another consideration to be aware of is the specific cannabinoid content of the specific product you are consuming. Adults frequently consume between 5 – 50 mg of phytocannabinoids per day.
